- The first film "clip" that I watched was from one of my favorite movie's, Ocean's Eleven. It is funny because I have watched this film so many times, and did not really notice how difficult it must have been to film this scene. There are so many charecters sitting at the table, that the camera must be alighigned, and positioned in a way as not to confuse the viewer. also, there would have to be many takes to conduct this scene just from haveing to pysicaly move the camera from charecter to carecter. Yet, thanks to the magic of editing, it makes it seem as if it is a fluid conversation that we, the viewers, and present in.
- Clip B is from a film called strangers on a train. I was interesed in this scene, becasue I took a part of the movie that should have only been seconds in real time, and thorugh cutting from scene to scene, prolonged the fight, and the man trying to stop the merry go round. Though these cuts from action to action, it keeps the audience on the edge of there seat becasue there are so many things goin on that is helps to raise the action, and the intencity of the scene and the emotioal impact.
- Clip D is really fun to watch because of the difficulty, and the smooth flow of the shot. This Scene from Magnolia is a 2 minute shot which follows the charcters around a building. One can tell it is all being done with a seady cam because there is no track, and the movments are smoth and fluid. I like these shots, becasue it really puts you in the movie. For exsample, in this film, it felt like you were walking though the halls with the main charecters, and the camera mimicked human movements. Also, everything is very flowing as we get handed off from person to person, as we follow along the halls.
- The final clip I watched was from a movie I hope to see soon, Amadeus. This clip is an exsample of one of my favorite things in movies, the flash back. I like flash backs becasue the help to give more depth to the action/memory. They also help to give the audience a better understanding of what the charecters are experiencing in the scene. I also enjoy them because they provide a nice mental break to a somtimes slow scene. One good exsample of a flash back is from the movie Cars, where we get to see the little town of Radiator Springs in its hay day. words alone describing the scene would not be as powerful as the flash back.

My Personal Rankings of the Nominated Films of 2010,
- True Grit - I really enjoyed this film for many different reasons. From a picture standpoint, the light and scenery was perfect in each scene. Also, the acting in the rolls of Maddie and rooster were spot on, and fit perfectly. However I am not crazy on the idea of Matt Damon playing the roll of a cowboy. This film is also a great blend of the book, an the original movie staring The Duke, John Wayne.
- The King's Speech - At first I wasn't crazy about this movie. However, after watching it I found my self wanting to watch it again. I was intrested by the interaction of the king of England, and the speech theripest and how their relationship was so different compare to other commoners surrounding the king. However, it was extremly had to get used to Captain Barbosa helping a stammering king with his speach, and the pesky man who turns into a rat in harry potter playing the roll of W. Churchill. Overall, I would say this film is a close 2nd to True Grit.
- Toy Story 3 - I ranked this film as third on the list not based on the film alone, but the film as the ending of a seiries. Toy Story is a movie I grew up with, and i was facinated with the imagination it would take to make toys come to life on film. however, this is kind of a dark film for young children. I feel like if I were ending the Toy Story ending, I would have done it a little differently, But it is nice to have closer on an old childhood favorite.
- The Social Network - It took me a while to get into this movie mostly because I went into it wondering how they could make a whole movie on the creation of a website. However, once I got into it, I really enjoyed the film. I thought it was different and interesting, and provided a great history lesson more closely related to our times. The film was also education, and enoyable to watch.
- Inception- I thought this film was interesting and different. It was extremly well done, and the acting was very good, but it had a little to much syfy for me. I am more into a more realistic aspect. Otherwise the film was extremly interesting, and well thought out in plot and storyline.
- Winters Bone- This movie is also very good, but it is at the bottom of my list because of how dark the film is. it is a real downer, and is very gloomy. However, for a low budget film it was very well done, along with pretty good acting by previusly unknow actors. Through out the whole movie I hated it, But after the movie the beauty of the film really hit me, and like The King's Speech, I wanted to watch it again.

REVIEW
Gum Ball Rally is on of my all time favorite movies. No matter how many time I watch it, it is not enough. I want to keep seeing it. It is a slap happy comedy of a bunch of friends racing across the country in everything from a plumming van to a farrari. The movie is based upon speed and racing from New York to California. I like to watch it with friends because it is alot better when you can laghf with big groups. It is also good because you gat to see some of the hottest cars at of a age race across interstates, and see how america looked back in the 70's. They also are allways running from the cops to which is very entertaining to watch.
